The purpose of Men's Ministry is to seek and serve the Lord Jesus Christ throughout our lives. Men's Ministry gives opportunity for men to develop spiritually and to serve Jesus faithfully in service. The Director and the Men's Ministry Council will continue to provide creative avenues for fellowship, outreach and growth. Men's Ministry sponsors a local church Promise Keeper group. Two men's Bible study opportunities are available to the men of our congregation. Under the leadership of Pastor Mark Pitcher, a group of men meet for Bible study on Wednesday mornings at R.J.'s Cafe, 81 Putnam Ave., at 6:30 AM. Another men's Bible study is conducted on Tuesday evenings at beginning at 6:45 PM and meet at Gary's Smee's home at 2571 West Memory Lane.
Men's Ministry sponsors the Western Festival that is held in the spring. This family event features outstanding food, great entertainment and wonderful fellowship for all who choose to attend. Once a month the men of our community gather together for a prayer breakfast at a local church. This is a great opportunity to meet the extended family of God. A wonderful breakfast is provided and a meaningful time of worship and prayer are always a part of the program. Men's Ministry will plan a Friday evening event once a quarter. Special guests and program along with a great meal will highlight the quarterly gathering!
The Ambassadors are a vital part of Men's Ministry. This group of retired men meets for fellowship, prayer and service twice a month. Members of our pastoral staff provide a devotional emphasis and join in the lunch that follows.
The scriptural theme for Men's Ministry this year is found in Zephaniah 3:9. Then will I purify the lips of the peoples, that all of them may call on the name of the LORD and serve him shoulder to shoulder.
