Wow, What a Child

Probably no other verse has been more debated and discussed than Isaiah 7:14. This verse tells us, perhaps more than any other, what is so special about Jesus and why His birth is so significant.
He was born of a virgin: The virgin will be with child, v. 14b
Three things the Bible teaches about Jesus:
Jesus has always existed;
Jesus is God;
Jesus created the world.
John 1:1-3; 10:30; 8:58
He was fully human: …and will give birth to a son, v. 14c
Even though Jesus was God, He became fully human.
Philippians 2:6-8; 1 John 4:1-2; Hebrews 4:15-16
He lives among us: …and will call him Immanuel, v. 14d.
The word Immanuel means “God with us.” The Christmas story teaches us that in Jesus, God is at work in the world in a way in which He never was before.
Matthew 1:22; 28:20
The greatest Christmas promise of all is that Jesus Christ came to live in this world so that He could come to live in our hearts. God is with us. Accept, receive, and recognize His Presence in your life.
